Story of our Family Business

The story of Kampaamo Eira and Maria Oy is about family, commitment, and love for hair. The company’s roots go back to the 1960s, when Eira graduated as a hairdresser in Helsinki and decided to open her own salon. Eventually, the salon found a home in a small room in a traditional “rintamamiestalo” (wartime-era house) in Metsola, Vantaa, which Eira renovated into a meeting place for clients.

There was a warm atmosphere in the salon — it was a place where every customer felt important. This idea has endured through the years and is the leading thought of the business.

In the 1990s, a new chapter began when Eira’s daughter Maria graduated as a hairdresser and started working alongside her mother. Their close bond was visible in daily life: together they shared the joys of work, the trust of customers, and the joy of working with their hands. When Eira retired, Maria continued the business, preserving her mother’s legacy — unhurried, personalized, and uncompromising service.

For three decades, the business operated in Metsola, until a new phase began in 2025, with a move to Asola in Vantaa. Although the walls have changed, one thing has stayed the same: warm, personal service rooted in decades of experience and appreciation for customers.
